July 5-6: A Celebration of God and Country
Fully Focused for the Savior
1 Peter 4:1-11

Over the last year Peace members have been engaged in a strategic planning process. A core component of this process was clarifying our church’s mission. In a phrase, Peace is committed to Forming Fully Alive Followers of Christ. This mission statement conveys more than just sharing the message of Jesus. Our hope is that everyone at Peace will continually seek to become “fully alive” in Christ. So what does it mean to be fully alive? Join us as we examine 1 Peter 4 and discuss the components of a changed life.
July 12-13
The Call for the Church to Step Up
1 Peter 5
Peter concludes his letter to the early church with a call to leaders and followers alike to step up as servants despite the inevitable difficulties and obstacles. Leaders are to shepherd humbly and with energy for their kingdom work. Followers are to submit to their leadership with equal humility. Together we are to persevere through suffering and stand strong against evil through the prevailing power of Jesus.
Starting July 19-20

Christians are not afraid to ask the tough questions and to seek God’s answers from the Bible, even if those answers are still only incomplete. In this series, we will ask some of the questions that the people of Peace consider most challenging and provocative (on the basis of a recent survey). Some of these questions have been sources of struggles and debate for many centuries. We won’t claim to have the final word on any of these subjects, but we hope that through the struggle, you will gain both a better understanding of the issues involved and a greater reliance upon God, who transcends all of our questions.
July 19-20
Does God Really Send People to Hell?
Don’t miss the launch of our “Ask God” series! Each week will address a challenging question posed by Peace attenders. The first question, “Does God really send people to hell?” cuts to the heart of the Christian life. If the Bible is correct and God loves all people, then the existence of hell seems unloving, un-Christian and totally counter-intuitive. Is it time for the church to abandon this seemingly outdated teaching? Join us as we survey the Old and New Testaments in the hope of understanding the existence of hell.
July 26-27
Did God Create Evil?
Philippians 4:4
Sept. 11 ... Hurricane Katrina ... the Sudan ... natural disasters ... violent crime. Why is there so much evil in the world? If God is good, why does He allow evil and suffering? More to the point, if God is the creator of everything, did He create evil? Join us this week as we seek a loving God in the midst of evil.
August 2-3
Does God Care Who Wins the Election?
Isaiah 3:13-15; Isaiah 10:1-3; Ezekiel 34:1-6,10
As both political parties and their candidates appeal to Christians in America for support, many Christians wonder how their faith should affect their voting. To what degree should the candidates’ own faith and character enter into a voting choice? What about particular moral issues, such as abortion, or compassion issues, such as global poverty? In this message, we will consider what the Scriptures clearly reveal regarding God’s heart for any nation’s leaders.
