Sunday school is at 9:20 or 10:50 on Sunday mornings from September to May. Children begin their morning with an opening of song, offering, birthday recognition and prayer in the RecZone (20 minutes). From there, they split into large groups (K-2nd & 3rd-5th) for their Bible story time (30 minutes). Following this activity, the children have a small group time (by grade) with their group (20 minutes).

The strategy design for Sunday school follows the same four crucial elements as indicated in the Peace strategy design for the church in: Word, Mission, Groups and Worship, to enable us to fulfill our mission to guide children to fully live as followers of Jesus. Our Sunday school has all the elements of our Stategy Design here at Peace. Our opening is a time of worship filled with songs, prayers and an offering given to missions. Large group time is their time in the Word. Here, creative teaching techniques, video and drama are used to bring the Bible to life and teach children how to live their Christian life at home, school and in their neighborhoods. In their small group time, our leaders encourage, review, reflect and listen to your children. We encourage our children to not only have a personal relationship with God but toshare (mission) their love for Him with their friends.

This year, Sunday school is embarking on an adventure with the whole church. Through the use of “The Story”, children, youth and adults will enter into God’s story, the Bible, in new and life changing ways. The Bible is, after all, a book of stories. The Bible is a book of stories where God is the main character. The Bible is a book of stories given to us by that same God in order to transform our lives. As we move chronologically through the Bible, children, youth and adults will engage creatively and interactively with each story, walking away with a point to remember from each story. Families will have the opportunity to talk about the same Bible story each week. Also, each week, the parents will receive a page from their Sunday school child filled with fun activities and questions for the family to do together.

In addition to this, the children will be able to have their very own Bible to go along with the 31 lessons.
