What’s the Purpose of the Church?
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47
Have you ever been in a boring church service? OK, that’s a silly question; we all have. But why is church boring? If the mission of the church is to reach lost people … help the poor … serve the hurting … and advance the kingdom … shouldn’t the church be exciting? Join us this week as we discuss the purpose of the church.

Why Is the Church Full of Hypocrites?
Luke 6:42
One of the longstanding complaints about Christianity is that it is full of hypocrites. People use this charge to call into question the truth of the Gospel or to explain why they don’t want to be involved with the church. Hypocrisy is a character trait that almost everyone can agree on as bad. So ... how can people claim to be Christians, yet lie, cheat, steal and do all manner of mean and nasty things? How do we deal with this apparent credibility issue as we seek to follow Jesus and share his Gospel with others?

Is Christianity Intolerant?
In a pluralistic world with great diversity in moral and spiritual beliefs, anyone who says, “Thus says the Lord” is viewed as suspect and ignorant. Then Christians come along with a Bible that teaches Jesus is the only way to God and that God’s commandments are absolute. Doesn’t this make Christianity intolerant and downgrading of others at its very core? In this weekend, we wrestle with such issues and define tolerance according to Jesus.
