It seems that God has a great interest in the ways that we respond to both the good and tragic circumstances of life. He works through tragedy and other various situations to bring us to a place of fruitfulness in ministry and lives that respond in praise.

Monday | Romans 8:15-28

There is a special kind of passion and excitement that Paul writes to the Romans.

1)  As you reflect on the fact that you have been adopted into the family of God, what does this actually mean to you?

2) List the words and phrases that speak to you in this passage. Choose one word or phrase and talk to God about what this might mean for you in your life right now.

3) How does verse 28 give you perspective about the “things” that are going on in your life?

Tuesday | Genesis 24:1-28

There was an amazing chain of events that led to Audrey’s passion for helping others with brain injuries. As you read this passage – take note that behind every event are countless previous events in an incalculable chain of time and space leading up to and causing that event to happen just as it does.

1) What are the events in this story? And what are some of the previous events that might have led up to the events?

2) Reflect on some of the pieces that God put into place for your personal faith journey. Spend time giving thanks to God for how He moves the universe to show you how much He loves you.

Wednesday | 2 Corinthians 4:5-12

1) What things do you do that are evidence of the light of Christ shining through you? How does that bring honor to God?

2) How can verses 7-8 bring you comfort and hope when you are facing a tough situation?

Thursday | Psalm 138

Psalm 138 is a powerful response to the ways that God meets us in the midst of struggle.

1) How quick are you to respond in praise when you are in the midst of struggles?

2) Think about an area of struggle or hardship in your life right now. Take the next 5 minutes and praise God in the midst of this struggle. Ponder on all the ways God might use this to bring about some good.

3) Read the Psalm again with your struggles in mind.

Friday | Jeremiah 29:10-14

1) Make a list of all the ways God is providing and protecting Israel and protecting us.

2) Make a list of all the actions Jeremiah is stating that Israel and we will do in response to God’s work.

3) How does this speak to us about the importance of a relationship with God?
